Jazzie has been here a little over a week. She is a gentle spirit, but is full of energy. It has been intriguing to watch the interaction between she, Wheeler, who is her brother and Nieve who is the queen of the pasture. The first days she was especially quiet and vigilant in watching everything. Every ounce of her seems to want to please. A few days ago I was able to watch as she sounded an alarm first. Nieve took out toward the percieved threat (which turned out to be a stray dog) also barking along with Wheeler. Jazzie stayed vigilant with the alpacas. She didn't miss a move by either of the two others. They will soon be an dynamic team. Wouldn't it be nice if people could be like that....come into a new situation, watch to see what needs done or where they can best help, and then just do it, even if it doesn't mean being in charge.
If we don't blow away with our 60 mph winds or the snow doesn't drift us in, we will post pictures tomorrow.
