What a way to start the day! Here we go.

We're working on putting in a floor.  Of course, anytime there is remodeling, every thing is in upheaval.  The office furniture is in the dining room and the living room.  The tubs of fiber are stashed any where I can find a place. The cats, who are tucked safely away in the bathroom are less than impressed and are threatening revenge.  However, it will be so nice when it is done!  So what's a little more chaos?

Have a wonderful Friday and weekend.

It has been far too long since I posted on the blog.  I'm afraid we've been sucked into the Facebook world and I've neglected our blog.  I thought I'd start back with a great picture.

Our cat, M.C. was named with those initials, originally, because he was my mom's cat.  However, when he came to live with us, we found he has an obsession about money.  He carries it upstairs with him at night and will not go to bed until he has his money.  He carries is down stairs with him during the day.  He gets really upset if any of the other cats try to mess with his money.  He will even knock Rock's wallet off the dresser and take money out of it!  We just found him taking a nap on his money this morning.  Maybe the M.C. should stand for money cat.

A MYSTERY

It is probably a puzzle I shall never find the answer to.  It it a total mystery to me how, when going out to do winter barn chores, clad with at least 4 sometimes 5 layers of clothing, how it is a small speck of hay finds its way though each and every layer only to come to rest the most inconvenient spot and timed perfectly to be discovered just as I begin the motion of scooping, as if to make a flippant statement, "Gotcha again!"

Quality control at Winter's Hope

We have been packaging up our 2012 crop of catnip.  For some reason I do not understand, we grow  really, really good catnip.  We call it Maui Meowy.  Above you will see one of our highly (no pun intended) trained quality control cats, literally getting into her work.  Copper's job is to test for the rollability of our product.  This batch passes her lofty standards!  You may see some of it lingering on her coat.

Break time!!

It's break time for Eli and Faith.  It is not an easy task to compact 10" of snow into 1" of snow.....hard, hard work.

Let it snow!

The alpacas are pronking.  They prys are sliding in the snow.  The malamutes are ecstatic and just uncontrollable.  The humans are doin' the happy dance.  The cats.....well they're by the fire, and not quiet as thrilled.

Fabulous Cyber Monday offer

Since you may be searching the internet on Cyber Monday, let us entice you with this marvelous hand made shawl. The artist is Patricia Martin. To better define hand made in this case, Patricia hand shore her alpacas, hand cleaned the fiber, carded the fiber, hand spun the fiber, hand dyed the fiber into wonderful colors and hand crocheted this lovely, warm shawl using her own design. Can you imagine how many hours that took?! It is awesome and listed @ www.WintersHope.com farm page.  Please have a look around.
